If you want to get to know the Toraja culture better and are a sociable person, the Ne Pakku Manja Family Home is the perfect choice. Meyske welcomed us into her home like friends. The accommodation has several rooms and you share common areas such as the living room and bathroom. You don't need to cook since you can also have dinner on site on request, which is really delicious. What is very practical is that Meyske is a local guide and offers a two-day tour during which you learn an incredible amount about the fascinating Toraja culture, visit traditional ceremonies and burial sites and hike through rice fields. We had a great time there and would advise anyone traveling to Rante Pao to stay there.

A highlight of the room is the large balcony. We always had breakfast there and spent the evening there. The room is very stylishly furnished, with a beautiful large wooden bed. You are right in the middle of nature, which for us was a perfect retreat and contrast to the big, bustling city of Bandung. The facility is beautiful, lots of plants and there is a communal pool, but we didn't use it.

You need a car to get to Bandung. As we didn't have a rental car, we always took a cab. Depending on traffic, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the city.

There is so much to like about the Amnaya Resor.t Our highlights were the fantastic customer service, very good breakfast and amazing swimming pool where one can spend the whole day relaxing, enjoying the tropical plants and the tranquility of that place.

If I had to choose things that can be improved, then I would say the restaurant's dinner experience can be better. We've found Indonesian dishes there too toned down, and the music performances to loud to be able to enjoy the dinner and the conversation. Also the location can be considered a minus, since it's 10 mins walk to the beach from the hotel. It didn't impact us, as we were aware about this fact while booking, but the nearby beaches are actually quite dirty and in the end it was better to stay in the hotel's swimming pool.

I have been staying here regularly since this homestay first opened & sadly the cleanliness of bathroom has deteriorated. The tiles need a good scrub & bleaching cleaner to remove built up scum & staining. Also the stainless sink in utility area needs the built up scum & calcification removed. The bed sheets were threadbare with staining & several large holes. Also there was no mattress protector on the bed (not hygienic). The stairs & foyer tiling are in need of a good scrub as well. The safety boxes are still not bolted down after all these years. Anindya is a beautiful homestay so it was disappointing to see standards have dropped. Hopefully it can be restored to its former glory..
