The worst part of the hotel is the fact that we're made to wait at the check-in reception desk for full prepayment of the room rental and in local currency and offered the worst currency conversion rate in Colombo, worse than that at the airport. On checking in, we had to ask repeatedly for the toiletries. The keys started malfunctioning the very next day.
The best part is the location and cleanliness. The staff behaviour was not up to the mark but acceptable

Two days was plenty in Colombo to explore the city.
Two days was plenty in Colombo to explore the city. Use the pick me app to get value for money with the tuk tuks as they do try to over charge by a lot. Thoroughly recommend Pettah Market, just to experience the bustle and noise of a true, working market and for the street food. It is easy to walk around - and near to there, the Old Town Hall is a lovely building and the iconic mosque has two sides to view. The Lotus Tower is worth going up for extraordinary views of the city and don't miss out on the independence memorial! The Gangaramaya Temple is amazing and well worth stopping for, but the less visited Seema Malaja temple, just around the corner, jutting out onto the lake is very peaceful. Try Seed cafe or Milk and Honey cafe for great juices and coffee.

I came specifically for the Colombo-Ella train ride, the mountains and the local culture and food…
The train ride n the mountains was absolutely worth it. And the locals were sweet. However, I was quite disappointed by food. Everywhere you go, there’s fried rice! Fried rice plus this, fried rice plus eggs, fried rice and that… You had to particularly ask for Sri Lankan food or the local curry. I went to a somewhat upmarket restaurant in Ella, ordered a simple vegetable and meat curry. It came out fried rice topped with two fried eggs :(

Improvements - in the restaurant area, coffee and tea making facilities to be a bit more secure and spacious. To cater more for western tastes as opposed to locals - ie more cereals and yogurts. At time a bit too tight for numbers.
Pay more attention to health and safety around the tea/coffee area. Milk gets very hot, better signs to indicate this.
When floors are being mopped, to use wet floor sign so people are aware.

What can I say? What an amazing hotel. Every single staff member was so friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and really clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were planning on visiting the centre of Colombo but ended up spending our afternoon on the rooftop, which is one of the most beautiful rooftops I have ever seen. A huge infinity pool, a beautiful garden, multiple jaccuzis and hottubs, a bar... Perfect stay for our one night in Colombo. The breakfast had a massive variety of fresh products for everyone's taste.
A perfect stay! We stayed here twice and i recommend it as your go-to stay in Colombo. Great location, clean, super kind and professional staff - the best staff we had in Sri Lanka.
Awesome breakfast, also the best egg hoppers we had in over a month of intense travel: crispy on top, soft yet not too thick and well cooked at the bottom... Pure delight!
The rooftop pool is clean and they also had a nice live music solo gig on one of the evenings.
Provided a great comfy crib for our baby too.
Had a wonderful New Year’s Eve stay at the Kingsbury Colombo. A special thank you to Sanjani at the front desk who helped sort out our booking and get us into the executive suite with a fabulous view that we had booked. The hospitality at this hotel was excellent. We had one of the best fine dining experiences in Sri Lanka at King’s Steak restaurant. Great selection and service at the buffets. Thank you to everyone at Kingsbury for making our stay such a memorable one.
The staff are the highlight of this hotel. They will bend over backwards for you and do the best they can to provide you with the best service.
There is an aircon and fan in the room, kettle and coffee tea and sugar plus a small refrigerator.
Last reviews said the neighboured was sketchy, but it’s really not. It’s a typical Sri Lanka street.
The vendors and people in the area are nice, try to make an effort to smile and talk to them, they are lovely.
Staff is very helpful and proactive - I had an issue with Wi-Fi and with power outage due to road works and they were very resourceful. Location is very nice too - residential green neighborhood, plenty of nice restaurants around including 2 of the 50 best list. It’s a good choice for 1-2 night stay if you’re not a picky traveller. Longer stay in Colombo is not needed though - head straight to the mountains or south coast!
The apartment was absolutely stunning as shown in the pictures. I could have lived in it and The Fab bakery provides delicious food all day. Nuwan was a great host and accessible via WhatsApp. He showed us around, stored our luggage and found us a tuktuk. The hotel is surrounded by shops, banks and restaurants which are useful when you arrive in Sri Lanka. The Fort and centre of Colombo are just 10 mins away by tuktuk.
The room service menu food is EXCEPTIONAL and is very very very tasty and extremely reasonable. Better than a 5 star hotel’s room service food!! 👍 (as I have being to many, in Sri Lanka and abroad)
The location, the staff and all amenities were EXCELLENT. It was such a comfortable stay.
The room was exceptionally sound proof and was very very clean and consisted of all the required amenities.
The hotel is great: easy to check-in, spacious and cozy rooms, huge beds, fantastic rooftop pool, nice rooftop bar, very friendly and helpful staff, tasty and affordable food. Located in the modern part of the city. The view from the rooms is great, facing all the fancy hotels and skyscrapers from the city. Extremely affordable for a 4 star hotel. Definitively would return if going to Colombo.
The hotel has attractive decor and is in a great location in Colombo. The infinity pool on the 27th floor is definitely something special. The bathroom was huge and really liked the Japanese toilets. Breakfast buffet had a good continental breakfast spread as well as Sri Lankan options to try which were delicious. Cocktails at the roof terrace were great too.
Super central, decent hotel in the middle of Colombo. It's not a five star resort, but clean, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful and welcoming, breakfast is nice and filling and Aircon was working. Also, on the day i checked out, i was able to leave my luggage there while I was exploring :) couldn't have asked for anything more, i was very satisfied.
The room and bed was comfortable and it had a nice balcony view. There were areas apart from the room where you could hangout for coffee and tea and a nice chat. The staff were nice to chat with. The hotel location is at the center where most tourist attractions are in Colombo and near to lot of shops, restaurants, cafes.
The rooftop pool and bar was amazing. Incredible views of both Colombo and the sea. The room has great decor and had everything you needed, you need to check out the toilet! All the staff were really kind and helpful. We had an excellent stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Colombo
Very confortable roow with the best shower in Sri Lanka. Kettle, fridge and amazingly comfy bed. Lovely views from the panaramic room. Walking distance to Colombo City Centre, Food city, a small national park and hospital corner. Staff were fantastic especially the staff at the roof top bar and pool.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, well located in a calm part of Colombo but with everything easily accessible. The staff were very friendly and helped us find somewhere to eat, as we arrived on a holiday when most places were closed.
We liked this hotel so much! By far our best stay in Sri Lanka (or even anywhere else, for that matter). Very clean, crisp bed linen, perfect bathroom, nice no-nonsense interiors, and oh, such a friendly staff! we will definitely come back.
The location is excellent for business travel. Good restaurants, bars, coffee shops, beach front, shopping all at a walking distance.Easy to get a tuk tuk or taxi to explore Colombo. The Ministry of Crab is right opposite this Hotel!
The hotel looked and felt like a 4 star hotel with a little old Sri Lanka charm. The highlight was Razik, Razik was a room attendant with a real focus on people, making people happy and getting people what they need.
Good location, one of the first hotels in Colombo! big room, wonderful shower, friendly staff! Nice cafe and restaurant in hotel! Felt safe walking around in that area!
This hotel probably has one of the best locations in Colombo - It is right on the beachfront. It has an old colonial charm to it. Would highly recommend staying here.
