First off, the hosts were beyond kind. They gave us helpful advice, directions, etc. about Nikko and were just so lovely to talk to. If you're worried about language barrier at all, Mark is an ex-pat who speaks English, which is very handy. The property itself is right in the heart of Nikko's top sightseeing spots. You can literally see the famous bridge from outside. The rooms have been beautifully updated, particularly the high-tech bathroom. You can look out at the gorgeous river right behind the inn when taking a bath in the large tub. Downstairs, we enjoyed a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning (the mini croissants were to die for) and some tasty snacks/drinks in the evening. My husband and I kept commenting on how cozy the bar/eating area was and how easy it was to spend time there. We only ended up doing one night in Nikko and wish we had done more, both for the area and Shinkyo Inn. You can tell that so much love has gone into making the inn a special place. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we can't wait to come back!

I only stayed one night, but I felt immediately at home and could not have been happier. The private, in-room onsen was the highlight of the room without question. Such a wonderful way to unwind and I spent hours in there. They keep the onsen very hot, hotter than most I've been to, but it's easy to add cold water to cool it down and if you go too far, a call to the front desk will have hot water piping back in. I enjoyed soaking while watching the snow fall through the open window - and was very comfortable! The room was extremely spacious with sliding partitions for each area, so if traveling with a partner or family, it would be easy to create privacy when needed. In-room amenities were great. Nice lotions, soaps, etc. Lighting in the room was very nice - I believe about 6 different settings you can choose from to create the mood you're looking for. The meals were absolutely top notch and unforgettable, both the dinner and breakfast. I can't say enough good things but the food surpassed all my expectations. Simply lovely. Checking in and out was very smooth and simple. It was easy to catch a taxi from directly outside Tobu Nikko station and when it was time to leave, the staff called a taxi for me.

Nikko Station Hotel Ⅱ dapat dicapai dalam 3 menit berjalan kaki dari Stasiun Tobu Nikko. Nikko Tosho-gu hanya 10 menit berkendara. Semua kamar dilengkapi dengan Wi-Fi gratis. I liked the room's design, corridors, and lobby ( I admit that is mainly why I booked this place over all other options). We were lucky to get a space on one of the top floors, and an exceptional view of the city and mountains was there, too. A big supermarket is located close by, approximately the same distance (but in a different direction) as the station. The staff at the reception allowed other people to watch a sports match on the TV in the lobby, where vast and comfortable couches are located. That was nice of them. In the hall was also a free coffee and tea stand, which is always nice to have, even if you have a kettle in the room. Outside the building was a locker room, which saved trouble finding a free locker at the station.
